About Me
I started playing somewhere in ’91. I don’t know why, I just did. It took some time before I found the music I liked. House was evolving and in the Netherlands you were either a Gabber (Hardcore) or into Club music. In that period Euro Dance was what interested me most. It wasn’t until ’94 that I discovered German Rave and Hardtrance. That was the music I was looking for. Record labels as Urban, Low Spirit, Suck Me Plasma, Blow Up where the labels that had the hottest tracks for me. Visiting the MayDay in Dortmund in ’94 was an experience I will never forget. That’s where the raver in me was born. In ’94 my brother, a friend of us and I organised
our first party called ‘Trip 2 Hell’. My brother and our friend played Hardcore and I played Rave/Hardtrance. We did this a few times until our paths went into different directions. Rave for me ended somewhere in ’98 and Hardtrance became softer and slowly evolved into the Trance that became popular in the Netherlands somewhere around ’00. At first I didn’t like it but as the music evolved, so did I and grew to like it. In ’98 I started playing for a radio station in Arnhem called Frequent FM (and
later Frequent.NL on the internet). I had my own show every Friday called ‘Trance Nation’ . 2 Hours of Trance and a Classic at the end. This lasted until somewhere
in ’00. The station wasn’t promising anymore and I got bored. I played in a few clubs in that period as well. Unfortunately I never met the right person to give my ‘career’ the right lift, and passing on promo mixes didn’t pay off as well. My style by that
time was playing the (slower) Trance combined with what was left of Hartrance.
That Hardtrance is that what eventually became Hardstyle in the Netherlands. Unfortunately that Hardtrance is very rare these days. The good thing about it for me is that I have most of it on Vinyl !!!! Somewhere in ’01 a period began in which DJ- ing was put to a lower level by me. It was still fun to do but I wasn’t as active as I was before. I didn’t play at clubs anymore and the radio station (internet radio station by then) started to fall apart because of financial issues. Occasionally I played at a club but most of the time I kept on playing in my studio for a few of my loyal fans. In ’07
I expanded my studio with CD players. Playing vinyl (big black CD’s.....) is more
fun but CD players make your life more easy, so I play both vinyl and digital. In ’11
I played for Sense for Trance twice and enjoyed it. It’s a good concept, not too big, nice people. I hope this concept will survive between all other party’s there are every weekend.
I followed Trance ever since until what it is today. I do not like progressive, it’s too soft for me and has a lot of vocals in it. Trance, in my opinion, has NO vocals. The Trance I play today is up-tempo (140 BPM and up) and I like to keep the ‘breaks’ in a track to a minimum. I also have a weak spot for GOA (Psy-Trance). I’m not the DJ that has a lot of interaction with the crowd (sorry) but I’m more the type that is focused on spinnin’ the tracks and playing a good set.

This, in short, is who TranceForce-One is. Hope you enjoy whenever I play.

BiographyStarted playing in '91, looking for my style. Soon discovered German Rave and HardTrance. Played this until '98. Rave died out and trance became a bit more melodic and with lower BPM's. Played that style until 2005. Trance underwent another change. More vocals, long breaks. Wasn't my thing. Finding my tracks since then wasn't as easy as before. In 2007 I bought 2 CDJ-1000mk3's. Very nice tools, but not as fun as vinyl!!

I stil play trance, that's my thing and what I love to listen to myself. But I like it uptempo, so you'll find bits of Techno, GOA and even hardstyle in my sets.

I'm a hobby DJ and that's what I want to stay.

Hope this answers your questions.

ExperienceI started playing in '91. Practiced at home a while. Organised a few party's in '94 but that was not my thing. Played in clubs (not as TranceForce-One, but as DJ Rogé) once in a while from '94 until '00. I had my own radio programm (Trancenation) for 3 years at Frequent FM (later frequent.nl internet radio). 2 Hours of the latest trance. From '00 until the beginning of this year I haven't played in clubs or on the air. I didn't stop DJ-ing though, that never stopped. I don't know if I will be playing a lot the next years. We'll see where things go.
