| with some danceable tracks and some hip stylings guaranteed to make your evening positive. Some older tracks juxtapositioned against very new ones lent a good touch. It opens very strong with a heady beat and cadence, and does carry through with some solid basslines with enough strength to keep the mixset going. A bit of a wanderer, this mixset, a many-genre effort filled box of mixed chocolates, an allsorts mix, with chunks and nuts and fondants. Each good, but all together in one sitting a bit hard to take.
However, the mixing is very good and I think Bassam is about to embark on a solid career when the focus is more defined. That being said, there are tracks in this mixset I would surely axe and slide the rest together for a 40 minute production that would be more compelling and desirable. Let us hear many more works to fully define the Bassam sound, and more with a finer focused slant. Track selection: 3 stars Mixing: 4.6 stars Theme: 3 stars Creativity: 3 stars | |
