| that simply cause your body to sway in time and "work" to the music. Notwithstanding a track selection at times unfamiliar and ultra lounge-like, each track is capable of making you tap your toes or get up and boogie down. To dance under the command of this DJ in Los Angeles, to this southern California funk mixset, would really be a treat! Mixed with a nice hand, the sound clear and bright; oh yeah, baby, I can see the disco ball spinnin' and the colors from the lights already. This is absolute party music for a more sophisticated audience, I think.
One of the things nice about this DJ's set is the thoughtfulness behind the track selection. There is a joy here, a positive and warm feeling to the entire production, almost like the memory of your first time. Seamless mixing matched by a sure theme create a perfect mixset here in the most positive sense of the word: perfect. You are sure to find new favorites here: the track at the 31 mark stands out, and the track at 104 minutes till the end of the work is genuis: positive in lyrical content and forceful in rhythmatic beat, ending with a thick honey-molasses soft jazz dessert, fully satisfying. This is fine, deep-dish, delicious house, where the lyrics truly fit the time, where lyrics MEAN something, as I am sure many of us are noting in many of today's more thoughtful artists efforts. One can listen to this often, as I have done, and each time get a nicer feeling from it; it's a kind of anthem we can all share today, and as time goes by, this mixset is sure to gain popularity here on TFM. Five stars! | |
