| Soccia, a beautiful mixset of electro tracks provided by DJ Eagle for your dancing, listening, and physical pleasure! One track melds into the next, with nary a misstep, no wrong direction, no false road home. Nothing pretentious, no need for overlayering here. DJ Eagle commands the decks with aplomb, allowing her sharp ear to direct her moves as she watches the mood of the dancers cavorting on the floor in front of her, the guiding factor of where she will take them, and how high.
The tracks selected for this mixset are not your standard fare; these are tracks for the more descerning ear, someone who appreciates the non-pedistrian commercial sounds. Strike, Kenetic, Speaker Freaker: songs very much au contraire and unfavored, but full of beat and bass and nastiness that some find very attractive. You Rise Me Up stood out here, leveling the field immediately, too, for the bouncy thick beat and the lyrics so full of mischevious double entendre. The last track Party People, lends this mixset an obvious feel and seque into a full-on tribal set, with which we know this talented DJ can throw at us with more force than a blowdart! While I like this effort, I like other works by DJ Eagle far better, so I am only giving this Four Stars since I have heard all of her available work and will now review other mixsets! | |
