OK, another comment:Posted 02/25/08 by macpromikem
this set was played for the first 30 minutes for some people who like techno - and these people danced and danced and commented and exclaimed at how much they enjoyed this and will be burning this to cd to play for MANY other people. This set has amazed every person I've shared it with - and I'm sure with in a week it will have been shared with hundreds of people here in so cal.

Impactful, beyond brilliant - it is BESHROOMED!

and i'm very much afraid..........

Five freakish stars....again.

thx very much for the compliments ^^
Totally think Sam's statement aboutPosted 02/24/08 by macpromikem
slap dashed and lacked blending .... not too sure.. but as a caveat I would say I dont' have the experience or knowledge to know excatly what she means - I only go with reviewing this from my perspective as I like to count beats and stuff... I can only say, after sharing this with a dozen people, it garnered very high and positive comments - so, Sam may be right, I do not know - she is the professional...

I came back to make a final note to my review - and happily saw Sam's evaluation here ....

This set is magnificent. It is a must for anyone into this genre.
and finally.....Posted 02/24/08 by SamSamani
after listening to all of the mix today I must say superb track selection, loved the random vocals atr the start and some lovelly melodic tracks in the middle, it nicely changed pace bout 3rd of the way in too.... however, would have been nice to see u stretch some of your mixes out as I found sometimes it was a little slap dash and lacked blending -
GREAT MIX regardless of me nit picking tho :)
lovelly....Posted 02/24/08 by SamSamani
crisp, clean, fun, unique.. downloading to listen and analyze in my car as this def sounds well worth a proper listen from the 1st 25mins i have listened to.
will come back once i am done for further comments.
so far so good.....
... and I'm very much afraid ....Posted 02/22/08 by macpromikem
... the skitteling of insect legs like centipedes comingling with sardonic beats, chirps and twitters, elongated voices vibrating with nervous tension, children's tunes garishly scary, the looping of a bad mushroom trip from which the memories of wanting to be a truck, a train or an aeroplane, as a child, runn pell-mell dashing in your brain ... here are sick beats, slicker mixing; hold tight cause here we go! We are rockets going to the moon and our fuel is the juice of maddness. Like a nightmare, you envision foods taking over your mind from the outset of this fantastical oddessey where you may have fallen into the menu as your mushroom trip began, and, finding yourself in a salad of deeping insanity where the greens are not leafs but shards of chrome and glass and the croutons chunks of sound that tastes like metal, you ask yourself, " where am I?". When your waiter asks you "what would you like to be?" your reply is that you'd like to be at one of this DJ's live shows cause his nightmare has become your own and your dancing has become the only thing you know.

Tremendous tracks mixed really well for effect, a couple familiar ones to-be-sure. However, if you like the more unusual kind of techno feasting then this is one that will go to the top 10 of your playlist. I think that under certain mental conditions, this could be rather more like an adventure with Alice through the looking glass. Earworming can occur in many places with this set. Be warned! Sweeping in depth, noxiously entertaining, Junky's World is really "out there" on some very warped, very cool planet, and the last 29 minutes of the set gather momentum propelling you far, far away.

Five stars for this great effort.
